# SwasthSathi > SwasthSathi is a free, offline-capable web app that screens for type 2 diabetes risk and hypertension risk. It is an educational screening tool — not a diagnosis and not a clinically validated medical device. It runs in four languages (English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi), works without an internet connection, and needs no account to produce a result. ## What SwasthSathi is and is not SwasthSathi is an educational risk-screening tool. It estimates a person's risk of type 2 diabetes and hypertension (high blood pressure) so they know whether it may be worth seeing a doctor. - It is NOT a diagnosis. Only a qualified doctor can diagnose a condition. - It is NOT clinically validated. The risk engine scores against published clinical thresholds, but that scoring has not been tested against patient outcomes. A result is a reason to see a doctor, not a medical finding. - It is NOT a substitute for professional medical care, examination, or treatment. ## Key facts - Free to use, with no ads. - No account is needed to complete a screening and get a result. If you screen without an account, nothing is stored. - Works offline as an installable Progressive Web App (PWA); the screening runs on your device. - Available in four languages: English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi. - Screens for two conditions: type 2 diabetes risk and hypertension (high blood pressure) risk. - Risk thresholds come from published sources: ADA glycaemic cut-offs, WHO and JNC-8 blood-pressure stages, and Asian-specific BMI and waist limits. - Built by Team COGNITEX — four Computer Engineering students at LDRP-ITR, Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya (KSV University), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India — as a non-commercial project under an ImpactThon 2025-26 student grant. ## Key pages - [Home](https://swasthsathi.app/): Overview of the free, offline, multilingual screening tool and how it works. - [Screening](https://swasthsathi.app/screening.html): The screening form. The same inputs always produce the same score. AI does not generate the risk score. - Scoring uses fixed published thresholds: ADA glycaemic cut-offs, WHO and JNC-8 blood-pressure stages, and Asian-specific BMI and waist limits. - AI is used only for two things: reading values from a photographed lab report (OCR), and a guideline-grounded assistant. - The guideline assistant answers only from a fixed set of guideline passages drawn from published WHO material. If nothing matches closely enough, it declines rather than improvising. It refuses all questions about medicines or doses, and it points the user to emergency care when a question needs it. ## Intended use and limitations SwasthSathi is intended for personal health awareness and education. It helps a person understand whether their risk of type 2 diabetes or hypertension is high enough to warrant seeing a doctor. It must not be used as a diagnosis, as a clinically validated assessment, or as a substitute for professional medical advice, examination, or treatment. The risk engine has not been clinically validated. Any result — high or low — should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional. For medical decisions, including medicines and treatment, consult a doctor.
